Miss Bala is the Mexican entry in the foreign film Oscar category. It held my interest for awhile, but after a point it felt like it stopped going anywhere and I wasn’t sure what the point was. It’s about a woman entering a beauty pageant who becomes the pawn of a drug lord, but the story was more interested in the drugs than the pageant, which probably wasn’t a good idea.
