CHATBOT Writes the ending of Waiting for Godot as if Godot Shows up

I asked ChatBot to write the final scene of Waiting for Godot as if Godot shows up and I think it’s scarily brilliant.

Title: Waiting for Godot: The Arrival

Fade In:

EXT. DESOLATE LANDSCAPE – DAY

VLADIMIR and ESTRAGON are sitting on a rock, waiting for someone.

VLADIMIR

(sighs) Do you think he’ll ever show up?

ESTRAGON

(looking at his watch) I don’t know. He’s always late.

VLADIMIR

Maybe he’s not coming at all.

ESTRAGON

Maybe.

Suddenly, they hear a sound. They both look up, and see a figure in the distance.

VLADIMIR

(pointing) Look! Is that him?

ESTRAGON

(squinting) I can’t tell.

As the figure gets closer, they see that it is GODOT.

VLADIMIR

(excitedly) It is him! It’s Godot!

ESTRAGON

(standing up) Finally!

Godot walks towards them, a mysterious smile on his face. He looks different than they expected.

VLADIMIR

(surprised) You look…different.

GODOT

(smiling) Do I?

ESTRAGON

(awkwardly) Yeah, we thought you’d be taller.

Godot chuckles.

GODOT

Well, I am who I am.

VLADIMIR

(curious) So, why did you come?

GODOT

(mysteriously) I came to see you.

ESTRAGON

(bewildered) Why us?

GODOT

(enigmatically) Because you were waiting for me.

VLADIMIR

(thoughtful) So, what now?

GODOT

(smirking) Now, we wait.

Vladimir and Estragon exchange a glance, unsure of what to do.

Fade Out.

POP ART, WHERE WE FIND THE POP CULTURE IN ART AND THE ART IN POP CULTURE.

The scenery, the comfort, the luxury, the smuggling, the murders, the crashes.…Sounds like it’s time for Episode 96 of Pop Art, where we find the pop culture in art and the art in pop culture. It’s the podcast where my guest chooses a movie from popular culture, and I’ll select a film from the more art/classic/indie side of cinema with a connection to it. For this episode, I am happy to welcome back as my guest, screenwriter Jordan Trippeer, who has chosen as her film the action packed Brad Pitt led comedy Bullet Train, while I have chosen the more indie Woody Harrelson/Emily Mortimer crime drama, TransSiberian, both films about criminal goings on a train.
